Arts and Crafts3rd Wednesday - 12:30 PM Join other members as you bring out your creative side and interests each month with a different art or craft. Open to all levels of skill. Projects are made for personal use or donation. | Book Discussion1st Monday - 1:00 PM TLWC has two book discussion groups for those who enjoy reading. Groups meet monthly to discuss the selected book (chosen by the members). These lively discussions bring out interesting perspectives and opinions about each book. Groups meet in a member’s home or at the library, rotating leadership and hosting of the meetings. | Bridge4 Groups/Times These groups are open to bridge players of all skill levels and groups are either couples or ladies. All games are non- competitive, using party bridge procedures. Games are held monthly at a member’s home, with members rotating hosting responsibilities. |
Bunco2nd Mon. evening or 3rd Mon. day This is an exciting, fun-filled dice game. No skill or experience is required, only the expectation of a lot of fun and friendship. Members of the groups rotate hosting the monthly games. | Coffee and Chatter1st Monday - 10:00 AM What better way to get the latest TLWC or community news than from your friends over a cup of coffee? Reservations are preferred, however drop-ins are welcome too. These monthly get-togethers rotate among members' homes and are a great way to meet someone new to the club. | Colorado Living LunchTwo Groups/Times If you love to cook and eat, this is the group for you. These monthly gatherings share in the cooking, providing themselves with a fabulous lunch based on a theme or common interest. Following lunch the recipes are critiqued with any failures always the fault of the recipe, never the cook. |
Garden Club2nd Wednesday - 9:30 AM The garden club provides education and resources to promote the love of gardening and is open to all regardless of a green or brown thumb. Activities vary and include garden tours and monthly meetings where specific subjects, themes, and approaches are explored. Special emphasis is placed on the challenges of gardening at high altitude | Hiking ClubThursdays - 9:00 AM The hiking group is a wonderful way to explore the beauty of Colorado. Hikes vary and are described by distance, elevation gain and difficulty of terrain. Hikes are held weekly and planned well in advance considering the time of year, variety of scenery, and access. Hikers carpool from a central location. Proper hiking equipment and gear is required. | Knotty PinesTuesdays - 1:30 PM Love to sing? The Knotty Pines singing group is just the group for you! They are a fun, not-so-serious, group of members who rehearse weekly. They perform occasionally at luncheons, nursing homes, and other local venues. Songs consist of oldies, Broadway, religious, and holiday tunes. |
Ladies Lunch Out4th Wednesday - 11:30 AM Each month the Coordinator picks a restaurant based upon suggestions by group members. There is a $, $$, and $$$ guideline for each restaurant. Reservations are mandatory and separate checks are issued. | Mah JonggFour Groups/Times Mah Jongg is an ancient Chinese strategy game played with tiles. National Card style is used in three groups and Wright-Patterson Card style is used in one group. Members rotate hosting responsibilities. | Over the Cup Tea GroupQuarterly Enjoy a relaxing day with friends at one of Colorado’s lovely tea rooms, sampling teas and tasty treats in delightful settings. Over the Cup meets four times a year, with days and times varying depending on the season and the location. |
Single Ladies2nd Wednesday Monthly A social, active, supportive and caring group of single ladies enjoying life and fostering friendships. We meet in members homes or outside venues. Occasionally date and time may vary depending on the month's planned event. BE THE KIND OF WOMAN WHO WHEN YOUR FEET HIT THE FLOOR EACH MORNING THE DEVIL SAYS, "OH CRAP, SHE'S UP!". | Stitch and Chat4th Monday, 1pm Members of various skill levels bring their sewing machines to work on quilting or sewing projects while enhancing their personal quilting and machine sewing skills. Some members are hand piecers/quilters. Meetings may include a mini workshop on some aspect of quilting, or a show-and-tell of personal or donation projects. Meetings offer a time to catch up with each other as our machines hum. Stitch 'n' Chat usually meets at a local quilt shop. | TGIFOnce a Quarter"Thank Goodness it’s Friday” is a get-together for couples and singles, offering fun and relaxation at the end of a long week or month. It is held in members homes or venues such as The Barn. Members attending bring an appetizer or dessert. A minimal fee is charged to cover hostess expenses and beverages.
