From February 15 to March 31, 2021, TLWC will be accepting applications from qualified non-profit and public service organizations that provide significant services to residents residing in the Tri-Lakes area as well as District 38 schools. Applications will be available to download beginning February 15, 2021. The deadline this year will be March 31, 2021. In general, we fund qualified non-profit (501(c)(3)) and public service organizations that provide significant services to residents residing in the Tri-Lakes area, as well as District 38 schools. Due to our limited fundraising ability during the Covid virus, awards for 2021 will be limited to $1,000 or less.
We usually host several fundraisers each year to support our grant making program. In November of 2021 we are establishing a new event, “Joys of the Season, Holiday Home Tour”. Since the number of awards granted is dependent on our fundraising success, we encourage you to participate in our virtual “Who Do You Love, Cat or Dog” contest starting January 14, 2021. Details for both of these upcoming fundraisers can be found on our Home Page.
Our grant program’s purpose is to fund specific items that would be difficult for an organization to purchase without our assistance. We started small with our first year of grant awards amounting to $1,919. After 43 years, our cumulative total-to-date is over $1,000,000! In 2020, TLWC received 34 grant applications. Without any formal fundraisers, due to the Covid-19 virus, we were still able to award over $21,000. Recipients included the Palmer Lake Police Department, Tri-Lakes Fire Department, Tri-Lakes Cares, Tri-Lakes Community Preschool, Tri-Lakes Silver Alliance, Emergency Incident Support and numerous District 38 schools.
