Holiday Giving Tree

Virtual Giving Tree for Tri-Lakes Cares

Below is the link to access all the gifts needed by Tri-Lakes Cares to help make the holidays a reality for families in our community.  Just choose the gift(s) you would like to purchase and sign up.   There are 150 gifts available this year.

Sign ups close on Wednesday, December 8th.

After signing up for a gift (or gifts) to fulfill, label it with the ornament number securely attached.

Please bring your gifts (unwrapped) to the December 10th luncheon.  They will be delivered to Tri-Lakes Cares that afternoon.

For those not attending the December luncheon, you may drop off your gifts at the Monument Park n’ Ride, Thursday, December 9th from 5-6 pm.  Nancy Pokorney and/or Pam Cutcliff will be there to accept them.

REMEMBER:  Label the gift with the ornament number and do not wrap.

Email Cindy at admin@tlwc.net if you need assistance with putting the app on your phone or navigating through it.

You can now download an App for your phone which lets you access the key elements of your TLWC membership.  The App’s name is Wild Apricot for Members.  It is available on both the App Store for iPhones and the Play Store for Android.   You use your regular TLWC email and password to login

The app makes it super easy to find other members’ phone numbers and email addresses (under Directory), see and edit your profile (under Profile), see what events are upcoming (under Events), and what events you’re registered for (under Tickets).  You can easily register for an event too by just clicking on the event you’re interested in.

Monthly Luncheon/business Meeting

The November Luncheon Business Meeting and Celebration was held at Wedgewood Event Center on October 15th and a fun time was had by all.    The decorations were amazing, the food was good, and the company was exceptional!    Our Programs Committee hosted an inspiring presentation by Dawn Marie Barden, who spoke to us about her work in Uganda helping local women become more independent by instructing them on ways to make a living and manage their family's income.

Our next luncheon will be Friday, December 10th at Wedgewood Event Center in Black Forest.   Note that this is the second Friday of the month.  Register HERE to attend.

Fall 2021 Food Drive

Our Fall Food Drive took place at the October 15th Luncheon/Business Meeting.  Hundreds of pounds of much needed food items and cash donations were collect for Tri-Lakes Cares.   Thank you to our members for your generous donations!

To Sign up for this brand new interest group, go to Your Profile and click Edit.  Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list of interest groups and click the box in front of Wine Tasting

Caring in Action News

Caring in Action has been providing bag lunches for working homeless neighbors in need at the Springs Rescue Mission. Each month we make 40 to 50 lunches that include a sandwich, chips, fruit, drink, and sweet treat. We then deliver them to the mission to be given to those that are heading out to work.   For more information on how you can help, members can contact leaders Charlie Ann Hayes or Ann Cook on the CIA Home Page

TLWC wins Best Appearance Ribbon and Announcers Award Ribbon!

Linda Vernon, head of the float committee writes: So Proud of us!!! We had a beautiful float and represented TLWC well. So many, many people and they cheered and cheered for us. Thank you to all who helped me in making the posters, decorating the float, cleaning out our garage so the float would fit, holding up the poles, walkers, Lori for driving and Fred Bijork and Rick and Lori Marriner for the dismantle. Especially my husband Randy who spent many, many hours helping me with this project. It does take a village to do things well. Thanks to all those devoted TLWC members.

TLWC Makes a Difference in the Community

Tri-Lakes Women’s Club Community Grants Program has provided over $1 million in grants to nonprofits, public service agencies and education. The program focuses on smaller organizations that typically do not have the staffing or resources to pursue grants from major granting foundations. These grants fund important and highly impactful services to the community.  Click on the article below for a sampling of some of our most recent grants.

Our Holiday Giving Tree Was a HUGE Success!

Our club’s generosity went a long way to help families celebrate the holidays. Tri Lakes Cares was able to serve 138 kids and 54 seniors with their requested gifts as well as provide more than 155 households with a holiday meal due to TLWC members. This is a significant achievement amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite social distancing measures and transitioning to an online format via SignUpGenius for the first time, TLC was able to distribute more than 1600 gifts, gift cards, socks, games, and food items, which is an 85% fulfillment rate (compared to 1330 gifts distributed in 2019 at a 76% fulfillment rate). This amounted to approximately $30,000 worth of goods and services provided to families in need through the Giving Tree program. Most importantly, everyone who requested gifts was served this year!
