TLWC wins Best Appearance Ribbon and Announcers Award Ribbon!
Linda Vernon, head of the float committee writes: So Proud of us!!! We had a beautiful float and represented TLWC well. So many, many people and they cheered and cheered for us. Thank you to all who helped me in making the posters, decorating the float, cleaning out our garage so the float would fit, holding up the poles, walkers, Lori for driving and Fred Bijork and Rick and Lori Marriner for the dismantle. Especially my husband Randy who spent many, many hours helping me with this project. It does take a village to do things well. Thanks to all those devoted TLWC members.
May 2021 Luncheon
The May Luncheon Business Meeting and Celebration was held at Wedgewood Event Center on May 21st and a fun time was had by all. The decorations were amazing, the food was good, and the company was exceptional! The members present voted in your new Board of Directors (go to the Board of Directors page for the full slate) and we celebrated the club milestone of ONE MILLION DOLLARS donated to area services and nonprofits since the club's inception.
SAVE THE DATE! - Our next luncheon will be Friday, September 17th at Wedgewood Event Center in Black Forest.
Spring 2021 Food Drive
Our Spring Food Drive was a HUGE success!
TLWC’s Spring Food Drive to benefit Tri-Lakes Cares was a great success. Thanks to our TLWC members who donated and also shared this opportunity to donate with others in the community, we collected a total of 937 pounds of much needed food and supplies and over $500 to benefit residents in the Tri-Lakes area. Tri Lakes Cares was so thankful for our generosity and impressed by the turnout. Look for another chance to donate in the fall of this year!
THANK YOU TLWC MEMBERS!
The Caring in Action interest group has been providing bag lunches for working homeless neighbors in need at the Springs Rescue Mission. Each month we make 40 to 50 lunches that include a sandwich, chips, fruit, drink, and sweet treat. We then deliver them to the mission to be given to those that are heading out to work. For more information on how you can help, members can contact leaders Charlie Ann Hayes or Ann Cook on the CIA Home Page.
TLWC Makes a Difference in the Community
Tri-Lakes Women’s Club Community Grants Program has provided over $1 million in grants to nonprofits, public service agencies and education. The program focuses on smaller organizations that typically do not have the staffing or resources to pursue grants from major granting foundations. These grants fund important and highly impactful services to the community. Click on the article below for a sampling of some of our most recent grants.

CAT AND DOG PHOTO CONTEST VIRTUAL FUNDRAISER
We met our goal!!
Our first ever virtual fundraiser to find out who you love best, cats or dogs, raised over $10,000 to add to the total of granting money we can distribute this year.
A huge Thank You! to all of you who helped us with the contest. We very much appreciate your support by entering your pets, voting, and telling others about the contest. It meant so much for our success. - Linda Vernon, Committee Chair
Our Holiday Giving Tree Was a HUGE Success!
Our club’s generosity went a long way to help families celebrate the holidays. Tri Lakes Cares was able to serve 138 kids and 54 seniors with their requested gifts as well as provide more than 155 households with a holiday meal due to TLWC members. This is a significant achievement amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite social distancing measures and transitioning to an online format via SignUpGenius for the first time, TLC was able to distribute more than 1600 gifts, gift cards, socks, games, and food items, which is an 85% fulfillment rate (compared to 1330 gifts distributed in 2019 at a 76% fulfillment rate). This amounted to approximately $30,000 worth of goods and services provided to families in need through the Giving Tree program. Most importantly, everyone who requested gifts was served this year!
