2022 July 4th ParadeThank you to our entire team of TLWC walkers, banner carriers, decorators, drivers and helpers for the incredible showing at Monument's 4th of July Parade! ******************** The float decorators were rained out twice the evening before the parade so they met early the morning of the parade to put the float together and decorate it. Our parade float, decorated to “Honor our Educators” was a major success. Koko Pavich and Erin Contreras carried our banner into the cheering crowds. We had 14 members who handed out candy and 4 who rode on the float refilling candy bags. We want to extend a HUGE thank you to our generous members who donated bags of candy. We used it all! Also, a huge shout out to Gail Wittman, Mille Town and Ann Cook who were in charge of the “Lost Children” booth in downtown Monument. Thousands of people enjoyed this amazing hometown parade, and we are so proud to have been part of this Monument tradition. Many thanks to Linda Vernon, Charlie Ann Hayes, and Carol Gaskill for the hours they spent coordinating logistics and to Lori Forman for navigating our float safely through the parade. A big shout out to Randy Vernon, Fred Bjork and Donald Congdon whose assistance with our float was invaluable. | July 4th Parade PhotosJuly 4th Parade Photos |
New Volunteer Opportunity!
The Town of Monument, with a generous donation from Classic Homes, is throwing a party to raise funds for our Parks system! We’re having a Party for the Parks Concert on Saturday, July 16 with food trucks, beer tent, and live music featuring Reckless Kelly, Kristen Foreman, Jesse Cornett and the Revolvers, Lendon James & Savanna Chestnut!
We need volunteers, age 16+ to help with set up, ticket sales, parking, trash, merchandise and tear down. Shifts begin at 10 am and continue throughout the day until 10 pm. Please join us by signing up here or sharing our email or posts about the event on social media.
Each volunteer gets a meal voucher and can attend the music festival before or after their shift for free.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions and we appreciate your support of this event and our Parks!

Caring in Action provides bag lunches for working homeless neighbors in need at the Springs Rescue Mission. Each month we make 40 to 50 lunches that include a sandwich, chips, fruit, drink, and sweet treat. We then deliver them to the mission to be given to those who are heading out to work. For more information on how you can help, members can contact leaders Charlie Ann Hayes or Ann Cook. Contact details are on the SOS/CIA Home Page.
